Candied citrus peel – Grapefruit, lemons, limes, oranges, mandarins, citron

After eating or juicing your beautiful citrus fruit, you are left with a few options for the peels. You can zest them, compost them or CANDY THEM!!!! This is a simple process that turns all your citrus scraps into a great condiment (or a sneakily healthy treat). These can be used in baking, salads, as cocktail garnishes or even dipped in chocolate to add some class to your platters. Making them is soo easy, all you need is your leftover citrus peels (cut into slices or get creative with fun shapes), sugar and water. If you find them too bitter you can reduce the bitterness by removing some of the pith. Check out the recipe and give it a go!
